Ok… So you are Second Life blogger? Then this might be interesting for you!
So if you are Second Life blogger with or without Business, I found a Blog which might be interesting for you. The Blog is called Blogging Second Life and it´s a Project of Cajsa Lilliehook, Evelyn Hartshon and a few other Volunteers. Basicly explained they build a comprehensive Directory for Second Life blogger and stores/creators. They wrote it consists of three sections.
1. Blogs – a directory of travel, commentary, magazine, fashion, roleplay and other blogs about Second Life.
2. The Stores and Creators Lists – a directory of SL businesses with links to creator profiles (for slurls), store blogs and marketplace storefronts
3. Connections Databases. Bloggers who accept review copies are encouraged to add their information to the searchable database for creators to use to find new bloggers for their items. Musicians and DJs are also encouraged to add their info to an Entertainment database for event planners and club owners to use when looking for new dj’s and musicians.
You can register your Second Life related Blog and Second Life related Business adresses like your Marketplace Link or SURL there. I found the idea of this kind of Directory pretty great and registered there too. You just need to fill out the form but it´s pretty great explained on their Directory Blog.

Marketplace speed increase?
Since Direct Delivery is arrived in Second Life, I noticed that the SL Marketplace was very very slow. Other People did notice the same. I had the feeling that SL Marketplace was always somewhat slow but Direct Delivery did make it unusable for many People.
Today in the morning I logged in and now it everything seems to be very fast. Looks like the Rush of People who wanted to log in for the DD changes is away now or Linden Labs did change anything. What ever it is.. I just hope it stays like now. It´s pretty fast to load the Page now.
Finished my Marketplace Direct Delivery work..

I think I also do not spend a lot of time on the Second Life road… but there was a Time I did.
Reading a Blogpost of Alicia, I decided to think about if I am a Couch Potatoe in my Second Life. Or should I rather call it Parcel Potatoe, Firefox Potatoe or Windows and Apllication Potatoe?
Alicia thinks that she should once again go somewhere in SL. Looks like she makes a Comparison and found out that there was more Activity back in her Second Life Days.
She noticed that´s not only her. Most of here friends just stand on ther Platforms as well. So talking about my Second Life related Activity, I must say this is my own experience I made in the past as well. I defenetly can agree cos if I login to Second Life, I hang out on my own Parcel (Sky- and Sandbox) most of the time too. And it´s true that I rather spend more time with Forums, SL Marketplace, Twitter, blogging and so on. Sure I call it my SL Activity as all this is mostly related to SL. But the good Point Alicia makes is that it isn´t Inworld Activity. And when she said that she noticed the same with her Friends, I just can sign it cos I notice similar behavior of my Friends.
So in my Case I can explaine it so… back in the Days, Second Life was so new to me that really everything was magical and interesting. I was just amazed about each Place I visited. I became somehwat addicted and soon when I met a Person who introduced me to her Estate, Club and Community, then I became all the more inlove with Second Life. I believe back in these Days I did not minimize the Viewer very often. I remember everything was pretty interesting so that the rest of the Internet just became a minor matter.
The Place where I mostly did hang out was an Estate with a Club and I know I got my first free Inworld Shop there as we became very good Friends soon. At this Time I did rather have a small Collection of Products and they all were everything but not Complex or something someone would need. 
Just my beginner Stuff. And also at this Time I did not spend much Time to produce new Stuff. So apart from hang out my own Products there I worked at her Club as well and I remember back that I got a very good Amount of L$. At least compared to what most of the Dancer´s and Host´s get today in SL. It was 1000 – 2000 L$ (really no Joke!) per Hours for working in her Club and much more then my little Shop income. Sure this was a Reason to stay inworld and it would be a Lie if I would say no. But everyday when the Club were closed we did still hang out together too. So I wasn´t hunting L$ only.. I just enjoyed the Time with my new Friends. We had always cool Topics when we did chat and we had defenetly a lot of fun. So I can say it was rather the Friendship which did bring me online. After some Month I had the feeling it was not just the Team of the Club but rather something like a Family and Federation. The bad End of the Story is that she one Day closed her Estate forever. I believe I would still hang out with her much but she did stop to login regulary and later she wrote me that she wont come online often in the Future as ReaLife keeps her on the Run. I can say I miss her much as it was my most active (inworld) Time in SL. Exploring, chatting, dancing, listening Music, shopping and I cant count it all. Sure is I did see a lot of Places in those Days.
So when my Friend did stop loggin in, I had some more Time to learn more about Conten Creation within Second Life. Soon I became a regular on these bigger Sandbox´s and did experiment a lot with Prims and LSL scripting. As I was still a beginner when we talk about creating Content and from now on very fascinated with all that but a very slow creating one, I would call this Time my second Level of inworld Activity. Even if I still was sad that a Friend leaved Second Life, I can tell you that I in fact now did spend more and more Time inworld. I rented my first own Land and started my Store and later a Mall which I did rent out for Tenants. Managing all this alone did result in much more Activity but not only on my Land. Making connections with other Landowner, renting AdBoards here and there affected me to see more and more Places inworld.
But some day creating things out of Prims became routine anyhow. I just learned to create things I have in mind and now didn´t need to think about it much. I just started to create thing´s I had in mind and this Process became faster then before. With much more finished Products then back in the Days I noticed that Xstreet got a bigger Economy-impact then my Mall. The difference of Sales was so huge that I just started to think about closing my Mall and rent a much smaller Place to just have my Magic Boxes rezzed anywhere and a Skybox for new little Projects.
So what about today? They just merged Xstreet to SL Marketplace and the old good impact of Xstreets Sales were just the beginning. My sales on SL Marketplace even increased compared to the closed Xstreet. And after reading other Blogs I now know and bet that a very heavy Amount of Sales go rather through SL Marketplace instead of Inworld Stores. Not enough… new Features like Mesh Import makes Content Creators stay outside of SL to create Content. I do so now too.
Today? I believe I can get these fascinating Essentials of Second Life without logging in much. And there is for me the Problem. It became creating Content outside of SL, managing these Matters outside of SL, advertise it outside of SL. When things are done, then they get just adjusted inworld and then dropped in a Magic Box. Oh and soon we dont even have to rent Land for a Magic Box as we soon can sell Thing´s out of our Inventory. I believe all this has a huge negative Impact on the Virtual Estate Business too.
For socializing it´s pretty much the same.. Social Networks, Forums, blogging… I believe I spend more Time outside of SL today. You get these Second Life related News and hot Topics outworld.. and you can discuss it with People even if you are not online on the Grid. Do I like it? No I think Alicia is right. We should explore more often again Inworld. What I did now was losing the Fascination of SL, I had early Days in SL . The Question is if we are the Reason for that.. if we are lazy? If we lost Ideas where to go? If we lost Friends inworld? Or is this all due to some changes LL made?
Really I like new Features like Mesh Import and the upcoming Features. So.. well.. I am not sure. I just know that Content Creation became a very importend Part of my Second Life and so I can just judge it from this Perspective. Linden Lab gave us Tools like SL Marketplace and the Mesh Feature to just handle everything we want but not inworld. So there seems to be just a minimalized Reason for Content Creators to stay online on the Grid. If I could handle all this only Inworld and there was a Time… then I would probably rather be anywhere around on the Grid. I dont want to say that I dislike the changes of Linden Lab. Great Features arrived and will arrive soon. It´s just for me clear that they have a huge impact. They change Second Life.
Ok. Looks like for me socializing became simply suppressed by creating Content for SL. And now I dont do it often inworld. Even if I still have fun with what I do.. I agree.. it´s anyhow sad because there is maybe so much more I could do inworld. I sometimes just dont know what and why if I can do it without being around on the Grid.
However I think Alica found a Topic which might be for some of us pretty up to date. At least for me. I am sure we all have differend Reasons to be Parcel Potatoe´s or People who just login to put some Thing´s up for Sale. Maybe some of us are still often inworld. But I believe fact is that there are a lot of People who aren´t and if then they simply hang out on ther Parcel and have no other Ideas. Maybe I should start again to explore what SL can offer me apart from what I do now. Or maybe all this is just a subjective Feeling as we did spend already so much Time inworld in the past.. maybe it just feels differend then before. The latter would be what I experiences in other Virtual Worlds like World of Warcraft and so as well.
7 Years ago I did explore any Places in World of Warcraft just because I was nosy what there could be behind that Hill on the Horizon. But today I know there might be nothing then some low Level Monsters which wouldn´t even hurt me. That cool feeling of exploring new Worlds comes again when new Content or an Expansion arrives. But also only for a short Period. The Focus of my WoW Gameplay is now mostly Player versus Player Matches, new Dungeons, Raid´s and so. The World is just nothing new to me…
But sure! The World of Second Life does always undergo modifications! Maybe I should write that on a Note in front of my Keyboard so that I sometimes do anything else then now.
So this is a Topic I did think about often in the past two or three Month. So that I lately did make a good new start with exploring the Linden Realms.. another Day I was listening and chatting in a Electronic Music Club. But then I got bored again.. I simply do not often have Ideas what to do in SL. But well… lets see…
Saving a notecard inside a prim. “The server is experiencing unexpected difficulties”.
Lately some of my customers wrote me that they cant save the Confignotecard of Heart Tipjar in Second Life. But when the first Customer explained me the problem, I was not able to reproduce the error at least whith main Avatar which did create this Tipjar. But this is because this Avatar has full permission on this Item anyway.
I thought it would be better to check it out with my Alt. And see there… I wasn´t able to save the Notecard too then.
I got the “The server is experiencing unexpected difficulties” errormessage when saving a notecard inside the prim.
At the same time I asked google for the Problem and found out there is already a open Jira Ticket:
“The server is experiencing unexpected difficulties” error when saving a notecard inside a prim.
So if you anytime notice the same Problem with one of your Products or if you get customer request that they cant save your confignotecard then there is one workaround for you which will fix the Problem for your customers. Indee you should update your Marketplace listing then as well. 
You need to change at least the Confignotecard to FullPermission which shouldn´t be a problem for you. I cant tell you why the Notecard has to be FullPerm. I just can tell you it will fix the problem and other People commented the same on the Jira. It is anyway nevermind if the Confignotecard is Full Permission. I usualy did create them Copy and Mod only but now they are Fullperm.
So dont expect that LL will fix the issue. Looks like the Jira is open already for years.
However I did fix my Product and had a lot of work telling all my Customers of this Product to delete the old Tipjar so that they can use the new one. I think most of them were very happy that I did send a new Version. And I was also happy that one of my Customers did tell me about the Problem. Its fun to see that not anybody will report Problems. This makes me thinking if they ever did unpack the Product.. if they ever did login to SL again or what is wrong? This was sadly a Problem I could not see with my main. For the future I should test scripted objects from time to time with my alt. For new Products I do it anyway but looks like this Problem did appear since some month. I am sure I did not see this Problem with my alt when I created the Tipjar.
However. Everything ok now.
Important note for Content Creators and SL Marketplace Merchants about Maturity Level and the Word “PE” in your Description!
If you use the Word “PE” in the field of description or in the field of keywords on your Listing then it might happen that your Item will be flagged as “adult” Maturity Level. It happened to my latest Product Stage Lightning Truss Creator Kit on the Marketplace and I really was confufed as this Item is defenetly not an adult Product. So I had a hard time to find out whats wrong which took an half our. Later I just changed the Words “PE” to “Prims” and the Item is now flagged “General” as intended.
As PE is the Shortcut for the Objects Server Weight, Streaming weight and Physics weight I really dont understand why the Item will be flagged as “adult” if the description and keywords section contains the Word “PE”.
However for those who used the Word in the Description I though I better send out this Info so that you can proof if all your Items are flagged well. I mean imagine that… if the Product contains differend Parts which all have a differend PE, then some of us may want to write the differend values down in the Description. But looks like this is not possible, so that you know.
EDIT: I just found out that PE (Prim Equivalent) is today called LI (Land Impact) anyway. So I should try the Word LI instead of PE. Right.. tested it now. “LI” is ok as a Word.

THIS IS THE INSTRUCTION FOR THE TIP JAR
Feature List Summarized:
- Easy Setup with Configuration Notecard
- Every Settings are well descriped
- You as owner can choose if you want a Commission in % each Tip
- Choose if Tipjar-User will be logged out or can stay logged in if out of Range or not online anymore (You can define it in Meters)
- Choose if Peoples who want to login need to be in your Group or not
- Define the whole Hovertext and every Message the Tipjar can send
- Define the Color of the Hovertext
- Choose if the Tipjar should shoot Particles after each Tip or not
- Choose if the Particles should smash on Donator or the Tipjar User if Particle Mode active
- Define the Lifetime of these Particles if Particle Mode active
- Define the four L$ Payfields
How to use and change the Settings of the Product:
1. Rez the Tipjar.
2. Wait until the Initialization of the Tipjar is finished.
It´s done when you see “All configurations loaded. Tipjar ready!” in your Chat.
3. First let´s customize your Tipjar now. Right click the Tipjar and click “edit”.
4. Go to the content tab.
5. There you will find the tipjarscript and the tipjarconfig
6. Make a copy of the “tipjarconfig” notecard and take it to your Inventory, just so that you have a Backup
7. Read carefully the configuration notecard. There you will find deeper Instructions and all about what you can change and how you do it.
8. After changing the configuration be sure that you click “save”!
9. Wait again until the Tipjar is initialized.
It´s done when you see “All configurations loaded. Tipjar ready!” in your Chat.
The Tipjar will restart and initialize your tipjarconfig always if you changed and saved the config.
But after that, the Tipjar is ready to use.
Additional Hints:
When you made some Settings in the “tipjarconfig” File… and if you are happy with all Settings..
Just duplicate your Tipjar if you need more then one in your Club or Location. As you made already Settings,
the Duplicates will now have the same Settings.
You can also save your tipjarconfig in your Inventory after finishing your Settings. That is the way you can put
it back to a new rezzed Tipjar in case you did deleted every Tipjar from your Land. Good because you dont have
to make these Settings again. But be sure that you only have one tipjarconfig in your Object.
FAQ:
Q: The Tipjar is asking for Permission Debit. What the heck is going on? Can I trust you?
A: Yes, in fact you can trust me. Permission Debit is always needed in Second Life when a Script
want to take money from agent’s account. In the Case of Tipjar´s it is usualy so that your
Staff is logging into the Tipjar but you are the Owner of the Tipjar. If now someone (A Donator)
pays your Staff, the Money first goes through your Avatar and then to the Person who is logged
in to your Tipjar. So basicly the Script just ask you to get permission for this Function and to forward it
to your Staff or anyone who logged into your Tipjar. Anyway be careful in Second Life. Only give permission
if you trust the Creator of the Script you got.

New 10 Meter High Mesh Spiral Staircase on the Marketplace
Today I just finished my new 10 meter high mesh spiral staircase for Second Life.
I offer two Versions:
- 100L$ Mesh Spiral Staircase Collection 10 Meter High and Copy/Mod (This is the Home Edition)
This Kit of Spiralstaircases comes already with some very
great colorized and texturized version.That means it includes
already 6 Staircases in a very great design.
I did add 1 very basic
white version. It has the word “DEFAULT” in its name.
You can modify all of the 7 Staircases but you can use the
white default staircase as it has everytexture settings on
default (glow,shininess,brightness and so).for better starting from scratch.
Every Staircase is 10 Meter high and it has rezzed 18 orim equivs (That means 18 prims).
It is not sculped. It is a mesh product and therefor in high quality.

I learned a lesson now. Communication first!
I got a bad rating on one of my shoes on SL Marketplace. It was a bit harsh and not complete truth. Some peoples here know that I wrote about it but I had to delete this blogpost as we (the customer and me) was able to talk.
The customer was confused about the permissions. The shoes show “no mod” in the inventory but this is due to the no mod script in the object content. The shoes are still modifiy if you edit them. I wanted to proof it with a screenshot and I did. I contacted the customer about that case. I didn´t expect much but was happy when a friendly person asnwered.. an hour later but she answered to me.
I was happy as she was friendly in IM. As there was also a bit trouble on the product comments we both did admit that we did react a bit to much pissed. She did admit that she was confused because there was sim problems in her region and also because the shoes are no mod in inventory. After I explained her about the permissions she said “smiles, I retracted my comments, np, sorry, I usually do get in touch with the vendor first, Lesson learned. I am happy with the shoes overall, they work well, and are great with my outfits.”.
Yes thats wat I did expect as I am ok with positive and negative critism. The customer can contact me each time and I´ll answer and try to help out. So now we did clarify our problems. Both said “sorry”. Me and she. I know I did overreact as well and had to say sorry too.
So not only she learned a lesson. I did as well.. “Contact an unhappy customer and ask for the problem and explain if you can..”. I think communication is the key.
I will take that lesson for the future now. Not every person is evil.. maybe there is confusion. Thats what I need to clarifiy first in the future before make a drama out of it.

2ndhub becomes better known each day!
In a previous Blogpost, I told you already about 2ndhub. It is a Social Media Website related to Second Life and for Second Life Users. “Social Media” is probably not an unkown Concept for you. If not, then it is explained easy: Meet Peoples, Make Friends, Get known!
I think apart from making Friends inworld, lots of us use already Services like Twitter and Facebook to connect with Peoples who use Second Life. The basic problem is that Twitter and Facebook is not only used by Second Life Residents. So when we only want to meet and read Informations about Second Life, we need to filtering. But we do not have to do it on 2ndhub! And that is handy!
It doesn’t matter whether you want to connect because of Business-Reasons or because you just want to connect with Peoples from Second Life so that you can make new Friends. For each reason they have a Section and you wont be disturbed by one of them. The Layout is clean divided in Private Profiles and Business Profiles. That must be the reason why this Website becomes so interesting for differend Second Life Users.
Today I did read the Announcement that they reached 440 new Members in just 4 Days. I became nosy about the precise number of members and had to ask Mason Kingsford (Owner). He was very friendly to me and told me it is not a Secret! 2ndhub has today over 3100 Profiles which is in my Opinion very much. As we see.. it is doing well and I guess it will increase more. Many of us are already there and I just can suggest those who still dont have a Profile there, to hurry up!

One easy but hot way of automatic tweeting your latest SL Marketplace Uploads to Twitter
Yes there is a cool way to always automatically tweet the Information to Twitter, when you uploaded any new Product to SL Maketplace.
You need to know how you can automatically tweet RSS-Feed entrys to Twitter. If you dont know.. read this Guide first: How to automatically post your RSS Feed to Twitter.
Lets get started!
1. You should first log in to SL Marketplace.
2. Click on “My Marketplace” and then on “My Store”.
3. Now look at the URL in your Web-Browser.
The URL of my SL Marketplace Store for example, looks so: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/37414
As you can see… there is a number in my and your URL.. my Storenumber is 37414. Look at your Store-URL and write your Store-Number (Store-ID) down.
4. Every Store on SL Marketplace has an own Feed but most peoples do not know it! Here you can see how the URL of my Store RSS-Feed looks like:
You can see again that there is my Store-ID 37414. Just take this Feed URL above but change my Store-ID to the Number of your Store-ID.
5. Now you know your SL Marketplace Store Feed.
6. Now apply it like in this Guide mentioned: How to automatically post your RSS Feed to Twitter. Then you should be able to let TwitterFeed automatically post on your Twitter Account, everytime when you upload new Products to your SL Marketplace Store. All your friends and fans will be informed everytime when you have new Products in your Store.
This is a good way to get known too as there are lots of Second Life Users on Twitter. Yes it is possible that you boost your sales on this way too.
Additional hint: Setup Twittertags like “#SL“, “#SecondLife” or “#SLM” as Prefix or Suffix when you create your SL Marketplace Store Feed on TwitterFeed! This is a cool way, so that each of your Updates get found by Second Life Users on Twitter!

Some Content Management Systems and Blogging Tools have it already on board but if not…
There is still a Solution!
First we need to register on TwitterFeed. That is the website which will help us to feed our RSS Content to Twitter later.
When you finished your registration, then log in.
You know see the Feed Dashboard… Later you will see all Feeds you created here.
But now lets create our first Feed which will automatically post our latest RSS Feed entrys to Twitter in the future then.
Click on “Create new Feed” in the Dashboard of TwitterFeed.
Now everything will be very self-explanatory:
Step 1
As you can see… you just need to name your Feed (It is just the name so that you can find it in the TwitterFeed Dashboard later, if you want to edit it again)..
And in the second box, you need to put in your Feed URL. In the case of my blog it would be: http://miyodarcy.wordpress.com/feed/
Usually this would be already enough in Step 1 but you can additionaly open the advanced settings on the bottom:
I suggest it because you can customize how your Feeds will be posted to Twitter.
You can decide, when TwitterFeed should check your RSS Feed for new posts and how much new Feed entrys should be posted to Twitter (Up to 5).
You can decide if it should be posted to Twitter with “Title & Description”, with Title or Description only.
You can decide about the Postsorting.
You can prefix and suffix each Tweet (Add words in front or after the main tweet).
At least you could also setup a Keyword Filter.
After all this you can continue to Step 2:
Here you just choose your Service.. In fact we want to click on “Twitter” here but as you can see.. We could also setup our Facebook and others here.
Click on Twitter and then click on “Authenticate Twitter”… This is the way how you can connect TwitterFeed to your Twitter Account. On the bottom.. “UTM tags”.. there you dont need to change anything.
Now just hit “Create Service” and after it “All done!” and everything is done! Its easy and you can repeat it with every Feed you own! Peoples will then be informed through your Twitter Account, whenever you have a new Feed entry in one of the Feeds you added to TwitterFeed.

My Listing Enhancement Performance in month February on SLM
For all peoples who want to know how the Listing Enhancement works for other peoples, here is an example of 3 differend Listing Enhancement on SL Marketplace with 3 differend Club Products in February (30 days Listing).:

As you can see I´ve got an overall click Through of 55 for three Products listed a whole Month and paid for it 6197 L$. I did not sell much more then without these Listing Enhancements. So if you ask me… Dont waste your money for it. At least if you selling Club Gear like me. I do not really know how these Enhancements work if you sell clothes.. I guess it is better then because of a bigger target group. SO I discourage you to use these Enhancement unless you sell mainstream stuff like clothes.
Another new Tip Jar for Second Life
Ok today I did finish my little Goldpot Tip Jar for Second Life Clubs and other Business in SL. I did set the starting price to 250L$ and I´m still not sure if this is ok. Great is that this Tip Jar has a Config Notecard where you can change some settings, which I will descripe under the next picture. However, here are the Details about the Tip Jar:

Latest Second Life Economy Stats Published by Linden Lab
Linden Lab did publish the latest Second Life Economy Statistics for Q4 2010.
2010 ended on a positive note for the Second Life economy, with several key measures growing while others remained stable as compared to Q3 numbers.
Total money supply, LindeX volume, and web merchandise sales volume were all up between 6% and 8%, indicating growth in economic activity. Also, the L$ rebounded strongly from Q3, appreciating 3.7% quarter to quarter.
When comparing 2009 to 2010 measures, average monthly repeat log-ins were up 8%, average monthly economic participants were up 4.3%, annual web merchandise sales volume was up 104%, and the world size grew by 5.8%.

SL Marketplace Listing Enhancement Performance
I did add a Listing Enhancement for one of my Products on the Second Life Marketplace. I did add a “Landing Page Enhancement” to my DJ Booth for Clubs because this was one of my Topsellers on the good old Xstreet. So I thought this Object would sell on the new SL Marketplace every bit as it sold on Xstreet if I activate the Enhancement. I payed L$999 for 30 days and here are my Results after two Weeks activated Enhancement:
Impressions:
last day/week/month – 124 / 3388 / 4793
Click Throughs:
last day/week/month – 0 / 2 / 3
Thats pretty bad compared to the Click Throughs and Sales I had on Xstreet. I should rather say that the SL Marketplace Performance on this Product is crappy compared to the same Product on Xstreet.
What does that mean? Do peoples still use Xstreet more likely? Thats at least my impression because there is nothing to say about my Product. As I said… on Xstreet it was my Bestseller with activated Enhancements.
I wont activate any new Enhancement on SL Marketplace until Xstreet is closed as it seems to be that peoples stil shopping more likely on Xstreet. And I guess I´m not wrong here.
Let me see how it will be until Xstreet is closed. For now I can say that these Enhancements on the new Marketplace arent profitable for my Products. But they was in the past on Xstreet.
