So Emerald is looking for new Devs

So I just did read this Post from the Emerald Blog:

I hope they get the right Team and can work on making the Viewer socially acceptable again soon as possible.

I miss already a lot of Emerald Stuff. I miss the command line feature which lets you teleport high with “gth”, or teleport home with “tph” and so. I miss the possibility to change distance draw without beeing in the options. Dunno I miss so much.

Hope the Emerald Team get the things sorted and can make a new start.

Im still confused what to do now. I defenetly would like to use the Emerald Viewer again.

Yes I would give them a second chance. Its just that I did install several Viewers now and didnt find one which is a good alternative for my matter of taste.

Still using Imprudence at least this one is better then Viewer 2.0 for my subjective feeling. But I would like to be back to Emerald.

So you are Dev and not criminal? 😛 Hurry up and be a Emerald Dev so that we all can relax a good Viewer again! 😛


Most SL Clubowners are without sense of decency!

Yes you did read right. In my opinion most SL Clubowners are without sense of decency. Oh and I miss logic and cleverness too. I would go so far that I say most of them want to rip you off if you ate tenant!

But this doesnt mean that I say every Clubowner want to screw you. No I said many or most of them do so. And this is my experience as shopü tenan.

I told some of you with a blog article that I did rent a shop at Club Pacha in Second Life and that this spot was horrible. I did pay for four weeks and in this four I didnt have a single sale. I must say here that I dont expect only sales if I rent anywhere.. Sure it is great if I sell much.. but it wont be to bad if I dont sell much. I expect first of all to share my notecard and landmark with my LMgiver there. Next I expect that peoples will see my shop sign. All this is name recognition and brand awareness. And this is what I expect first of all. If I sell anyway.. its great too! However in case of the Pacha Club I did not even share one single landmark or notecard. I am total sure that I wasnt able to build brand awareness on this spot. And this is why I called it “epic fail” in one of my blog articles.

For sure I did tell the club owner that I was pretty unhappy with this shop space. It was idle money. But I didnt want to make much trouble because of this. For me it was just clear that I dont re-new the rental there.

Somedays later the club owner contacted me again to tell me about his new plans. He want to rebuild the club and wanted to make sure if I maybe rent on the new spot. In a second I did hit the keyboard and did answer to his IM “No I am not interested.”. After he said that this spot will have again huge traffic I said “Hun.. traffic doesnt mean anything.. it could be a place full of bots and thats why I dont care about these numbers”.
He said he isnt gaming traffic and so…

Then I recived some plans which looks like this:

I did trust him. He said this would be the new strategy. And I have to say that I like these kind of spots. I very good experience in the past with that. I was tenant of several clubs with the same strategy. And if get a good shop there, it can be great.. but just “can be great”..

Because of my good experience with clubs who use this strategy I was interested now and had to ask him many questions again. I asked him for example if the TP Point will be a fixed point for all. Or if he will teleport peoples directly to the dancefloor? He said everyone will arrive on the tp point and then they have to go through the mallway until they reach the dancefloor of the club. I asked him some other question..
And I thought all sounds good and I will try it out for a week. He did assure to give me a spot near the club. I thought about that and later I said “Ok lets try that”.

You maybe ask now why I am so unhappy then? Well.. because he gave me a grafic like this.. and he told me about his plans but later I had to notice that some of these points arent true.
If we talk about teleport point.. He said everyone will arrive on this point. Today I did notice this is not fact. Nevermind how you arrive there.. Groupmessage, LM, Notecard, Direct teleport or what ever.. you will arrive directly on the dancefloor and not on the tp point. Only the peoples who came from search they will arrive on the teleport point.

However this is not the biggest problem…
When I did check my rental box I had to notice that they increased the rental fee from 300L$ to 400L$ without tell me this. You may think now “Well but its just 100L$ more..” but I have to say this is not the problem. The problem is here that he changed later so much things that it is now total differend to the agreement before. I did rent this spot on a total differend agreement.

But sure for me 400L$ weekly seems to be exorbitant too. Let us think logic now. We all know about Second Life economy behavior. To reach 400L$ in a week with a little shop near a club isnt assured.
Sometimes it can work.. sometimes not.. but I calculated with 300L$ here because this was the agreement and later I have to pay 400L$ now.. its not good because in this case 80% of peoples wont see your shop anyway because the teleport them to the dancefloor. If I count all this together.. yes then I get angry.
Because if he would told me before about these changes, I maybe wouldnt spend money on that.

Im sure I wont earn so much money there that I can cover the shop rental. And I am sure others cant do too. And this is why he maybe need to search every one or two weeks new tenants

For me its a pain to find peoples who hold what they said before..

I did tell him my opinion about that now. Let me see what he will answer. But assurance in these guys is lost anyway.

I just guess that many club owner use shops to farm Lindendollars.. they really do not care about the tenants.. what they see is the fast and easy money. Maybe not all.. but many peoples do.

I know they have costs for the land too which need to be covered..For sure they need to do but it would be for all better if these peoples take care about the tenants..Those exorbitant tends to nothing..they are unlogic.

So this is why I call it “farm the tenants”.

Sometimes I cant stop thinking that it is a shame and that there are a lot of fraudster in Second Life.

Sure maybe all this sounds like I am pissed now.. Maybe I am.. but this blog post will help me forget this. Blogging keeps me relaxed.. so all will be cool! 🙂

No Luck With My Advertise Activitys?

Since round about 20 days I am running several Ads inworld with AdBoards but also on big community websites with advertise banners.

I just cant notice any success on this activity right now so that I just can hope that it did produce at least some name recognition or brand awareness.

But I wouldnt say that I did gain any traffic or sales because of this kind of advertise activitys.

Let me tell you an example.

I did book an advertice sidebanner on SLuniverse.com with a medium rotation for 30 days and $3240L.
Since now my banner had 1820 impressions with just 7 clicks I did notice on the statistic website of this banner. So this is a Hits to Clicks conversion rate of 0,21%.

For sure we could now say that my banner isnt interesting? But I cant believe that this banner didnt work.. The banner is pretty good in my opinion.. Ok dont know how other peoples think.. But if you ask me i just think that banner advertise on website doesnt work to get peoples to your products. The only think I can imagine here that this maybe can create some brand awareness or name recognition. But this would be something which just the future can show me then.

My position is now that I dont book more of these banners.

I did also book banners on SLinfo.de and XstreetSL.com and I really cant notice a difference. The ratio was low there too so that I didnt notice any pros for my business. But if this is working for brand awareness.. well then the future will show. But I dont belive on this.

Ok what to write now?

I think there is nothing more to say.. Website advertise doesnt work well.. inworld advertise doenst work well too. So again I need to try out other strategies which arent that exorbitant expansive for my little Second Life business. At the moment I dont have other ideas.. in the past I did try out much stuff.. so now I need to chill out for a while and think about some other fun.

Epic Fail With My Satellite Shops in SL?!

Its just two weeks ago when I did write about the opening of two new satellite shops for my product line here:

When I thought about opening the new Shop at Club Q-Poit I first had to ask the Club Owner a lot of questions. I even ask before I rent anywhere. I ask about how many Events there will be hold per week. What kind of peoples wil be there.. what kind of language to they speak and much more. It helps me to decide if I rent or not. However the Club Owner said there will be round about 3 Events per Week. Well because the Shop is not far away from the Dancefloor I though that this Location will be good to share my Landmarks and Notecards yea and maybe to get some sales.

In fact I had to discover now that this person just hold two or three Evend in two weeks. So this makes me angry. Not because I dont sell anything.. no just because of the fact that he gave me wrong details about the agreement. So why to hell peoples tell you that there will be so much Events if they even know this is a lie? Why? In my opinion this is nothing more then stealing. Oh for sure I will talk with this person.. oh oh for sure!
But at the moment he just dont log in so that I have to assume that this person place just some shops.. receives some tier L$´s from the tenants.. oh and then the job is well done.. made some money and you´ll never see them again. I usualy dont think that traffic is importend.. but today I noticed he has 23 Traffic on his club land.. which tells me there is nothin.. really no event and nothing. And this is why I am angry.

Lets go on with the Club Pacha. Here I need to say that there are Events hold 24/7. Oh sure you can see a lot of peoples there on the dancefloor. And my shop isnt far away from this dancefloor. But I have to learn for the future that much peoples on a dancefloor isnt meaning that this is good for a shop. Why? I am also not sure about this. If you ask me.. I guess they just place some dancing bots and some alts on the dancefloor.. oh and then lets rock the party.. which is meaning in my opinion that there arent much potential customers around. I dont want to asume this.. this is just my feeling.

So after two weeks renting two satellite shops I need to say it was a epic fail. I should invest such linden dollars in my main parcel with the mall. And fpr sure I think I will do so in the future.

Peoples who rent space just see the fast money but dont take care about the tenants.. This is my feeling. I think not all think so.. but many of them do.

So this is why I write a bit angry about it.

Peoples like to filch backlinks with there SL Blogs or they are lazy!

Yesterday I asked the “Second Life Club Review Blog” Owner if a backlink exchange would be a great idea? The answer was “Woow cool yes sure!”.

I did add this blog to my “Second Life related Blogs” Section and thought they would do so too.

Today I had to notice that they didnt add my blog to there lin section. However and nevermind for me because I can pass on peoples who just say “Yes and amen!” but dont do anythink.

I dont think that they did forget to do it because we did chat in IM Second Life yesterday and a link exchange takes just a minute. I did need just 1 minute to but there blog to mymlink list.

But because they didnt, I had to remove there link today too because I have to assume that they are just to lazy to put a link online or they just wanted to filch my backlink..

But im not stupid so go away with your “Second Life Club Review Blog” and be happy!

Complicated peoples…

Since my land did expand and i did build a second mainstore which i will rent for peoples there.. i had already some visitors who was first interested.

But what do SL business peoples think today? That I do all work for them?

Someone joined my parcel and was unhappy because i dont have high traffic on my land.

Well dont lets talk about high traffic.. we all know what this means.. there are still peoples outside who think high traffic would make better sales then natural traffic.

My business is grown because of Landmarks, Notecards, Group Advertice, Website Advertice, Forum activity, Mouth to Mouth Advertice, Midnigh Mania, Lucky Chair, Events and much more.

I often have less then 2k Traffic but I still sell.. I still sell so much that I can own more then 2000 sqm parcel with nearly 1000 prims. So why I should care about the words “high” and “traffic”?

But enough about this…

When peoples arrived to get informations about the second mainstore which is empty right now.. they said.. “Oh bad traffic”. But why? I mean they rent a Mainstore.. do they think i will do her business? I dont want to sell ther products.. I just offer empty space as Mainstore for someone.. so they need to do own business.

I have my own Mainstore near the empty one… and I sell there because i advertice my SL company much.

Some peoples are complicated.. they think they could rezz them Products in my second Mainstore (the empty one) and never come back but sell.. if they use this method they defenetly wont sell any Product.. this is for sure. Nevermind where they rent.

If I rent a little 30 or 50 prim shop for my products.. i see if the location have some traffic as well… (But I wouldnt search for 30 k high traffic areas). But if i rent a mainstore.. it would be necessary that i do something for it, that peoples come in and buy my products… i wouldnt ask the land manager to do my work.

I hope that some day peoples understand that “traffic” is just a number which is calculated by Avatars on Land per Time. But it isnt an indicator that give you better sales… exspecialy not if we think about bot areas.

So in my opinion traffic isnt necessary. My landmark, notecard and more is much more powerful then this number.. because I still sell with a traffic less then 2k.

Im also shocked that the rezz&go mentality has arrived in the mainstore section too… or I didnt notice that all the month because i just started to rent land for other peoples.

Well who knows.. more essential is that i know how to do my own business.. and thats running already.

Why I dislike Midnight Mania today…

Long time ago my first impression of the whole Midnight Mania thingy was very great…

For me it was a chance to show peoples my products. Peoples got the chance to get differend products for free.

When Midnight Mania gots popular and i started to use these Boards too, i was able to get good and bad feedback about my products. I did like that because i learn directly from feedback.. this is one way to get better.

But how does it looks today?

Well in my opinion the Midnight Mania Community changed a lot. Peoples are not even able to say “Hello” if i greet them.. they arent even able to say “Thank You” if they did win anything..

I guess 80 % of these peoples who visit my shop because of the Midnight Mania Board are very barefaced.

Sometimes a little “Hello” or “Thank You” would be great… but I only notice 20% of peoples are so kind.

At the moment i think about removing my Midnight Mania Board because i dislike it if peoples grab free stuff but dont leave any comment or word if they arrive or leave.

My opinion changed.. let me think about this a while.
