Lately some of my customers wrote me that they cant save the Confignotecard of Heart Tipjar in Second Life. But when the first Customer explained me the problem, I was not able to reproduce the error at least whith main Avatar which did create this Tipjar. But this is because this Avatar has full permission on this Item anyway.
I thought it would be better to check it out with my Alt. And see there… I wasn´t able to save the Notecard too then.
I got the “The server is experiencing unexpected difficulties” errormessage when saving a notecard inside the prim.
At the same time I asked google for the Problem and found out there is already a open Jira Ticket:
So if you anytime notice the same Problem with one of your Products or if you get customer request that they cant save your confignotecard then there is one workaround for you which will fix the Problem for your customers. Indee you should update your Marketplace listing then as well. 😛
You need to change at least the Confignotecard to FullPermission which shouldn´t be a problem for you. I cant tell you why the Notecard has to be FullPerm. I just can tell you it will fix the problem and other People commented the same on the Jira. It is anyway nevermind if the Confignotecard is Full Permission. I usualy did create them Copy and Mod only but now they are Fullperm.
So dont expect that LL will fix the issue. Looks like the Jira is open already for years.
However I did fix my Product and had a lot of work telling all my Customers of this Product to delete the old Tipjar so that they can use the new one. I think most of them were very happy that I did send a new Version. And I was also happy that one of my Customers did tell me about the Problem. Its fun to see that not anybody will report Problems. This makes me thinking if they ever did unpack the Product.. if they ever did login to SL again or what is wrong? 😀 This was sadly a Problem I could not see with my main. For the future I should test scripted objects from time to time with my alt. For new Products I do it anyway but looks like this Problem did appear since some month. I am sure I did not see this Problem with my alt when I created the Tipjar.
However. Everything ok now.
Important note for Content Creators and SL Marketplace Merchants about Maturity Level and the Word “PE” in your Description!
If you use the Word “PE” in the field of description or in the field of keywords on your Listing then it might happen that your Item will be flagged as “adult” Maturity Level. It happened to my latest Product Stage Lightning Truss Creator Kit on the Marketplace and I really was confufed as this Item is defenetly not an adult Product. So I had a hard time to find out whats wrong which took an half our. Later I just changed the Words “PE” to “Prims” and the Item is now flagged “General” as intended.
As PE is the Shortcut for the Objects Server Weight, Streaming weight and Physics weight I really dont understand why the Item will be flagged as “adult” if the description and keywords section contains the Word “PE”.
However for those who used the Word in the Description I though I better send out this Info so that you can proof if all your Items are flagged well. I mean imagine that… if the Product contains differend Parts which all have a differend PE, then some of us may want to write the differend values down in the Description. But looks like this is not possible, so that you know.
EDIT: I just found out that PE (Prim Equivalent) is today called LI (Land Impact) anyway. So I should try the Word LI instead of PE. 😀 Right.. tested it now. “LI” is ok as a Word.
Collected some L$ via my Marketplace Sales and didn´t do much with it apart from paying rental for my land or texture and mesh uploads, it looks like I saved a good bunch of Linden Dollars on my “Bank Avatar” and maybe I should pay out next days. I do it every now and then.
And there comes the question what I would do with the money. And I am nosy if you pay out and what you buy for the money. Do you share your experience?
In the past I bought a lot of stuff for my fish tank in real life. As I get Second Life money on the paypal account, the best way to spend it is shopping in the internet and you know there are lots of shops which support paypal. If I am true my payouts aren´t that massive but at least after some month it can become a good amount for smaller stuff. I purshased very cool plants for my fish tank, fertilizer for these plants, I made a 30$ bargain for a Co2 equipment (used) on ebay which cost new more then 150$. Yea the Co2 bargain was a real blast and payed with money which came from Second Life. I also bought food for my fish and some stuff for my cat. Last year I bought a game via gamersgate and I did pay a lot of World of Warcraft Gamecards with my Second Life money. Yea I think thats what I did with the money in the past 3 years. It wont make me rich.. thats what I learned. So monthly that money is not a big pot but if I save it a little bit, it can indeed help me out ever and anon 🙂 That is funny.
So how do you handle this? Do you have SL income? Do you pay out? What do you buy for the money? Or do you spend it only inworld? Or is this all top secret for you? If so.. no problem 🙂

3. First let´s customize your Tipjar now. Right click the Tipjar and click “edit”.
4. Go to the content tab.
5. There you will find the tipjarscript and the tipjarconfig
6. Make a copy of the “tipjarconfig” notecard and take it to your Inventory, just so that you have a Backup
7. Read carefully the configuration notecard. There you will find deeper Instructions and all about what you can change and how you do it.
8. After changing the configuration be sure that you click “save”!
9. Wait again until the Tipjar is initialized.
It´s done when you see “All configurations loaded. Tipjar ready!” in your Chat.
The Tipjar will restart and initialize your tipjarconfig always if you changed and saved the config.
But after that, the Tipjar is ready to use.
When you made some Settings in the “tipjarconfig” File… and if you are happy with all Settings..
Just duplicate your Tipjar if you need more then one in your Club or Location. As you made already Settings,
the Duplicates will now have the same Settings.
You can also save your tipjarconfig in your Inventory after finishing your Settings. That is the way you can put
it back to a new rezzed Tipjar in case you did deleted every Tipjar from your Land. Good because you dont have
to make these Settings again. But be sure that you only have one tipjarconfig in your Object.
Q: The Tipjar is asking for Permission Debit. What the heck is going on? Can I trust you?
A: Yes, in fact you can trust me. Permission Debit is always needed in Second Life when a Script
want to take money from agent’s account. In the Case of Tipjar´s it is usualy so that your
Staff is logging into the Tipjar but you are the Owner of the Tipjar. If now someone (A Donator)
pays your Staff, the Money first goes through your Avatar and then to the Person who is logged
in to your Tipjar. So basicly the Script just ask you to get permission for this Function and to forward it
to your Staff or anyone who logged into your Tipjar. Anyway be careful in Second Life. Only give permission
if you trust the Creator of the Script you got.
FAQ will be extended in case many Customers ask similar or same Questions about one Topic

I did add a Listing Enhancement for one of my Products on the Second Life Marketplace. I did add a “Landing Page Enhancement” to my DJ Booth for Clubs because this was one of my Topsellers on the good old Xstreet. So I thought this Object would sell on the new SL Marketplace every bit as it sold on Xstreet if I activate the Enhancement. I payed L$999 for 30 days and here are my Results after two Weeks activated Enhancement:
last day/week/month – 124 / 3388 / 4793
last day/week/month – 0 / 2 / 3
Thats pretty bad compared to the Click Throughs and Sales I had on Xstreet. I should rather say that the SL Marketplace Performance on this Product is crappy compared to the same Product on Xstreet.
What does that mean? Do peoples still use Xstreet more likely? Thats at least my impression because there is nothing to say about my Product. As I said… on Xstreet it was my Bestseller with activated Enhancements.
I wont activate any new Enhancement on SL Marketplace until Xstreet is closed as it seems to be that peoples stil shopping more likely on Xstreet. And I guess I´m not wrong here.
Let me see how it will be until Xstreet is closed. For now I can say that these Enhancements on the new Marketplace arent profitable for my Products. But they was in the past on Xstreet.
I hope the Time will heal.
I noticed that my SL Marketplace Store sales are still very bad compared to my Xstreet SL Store sales. Even if I am still not happy enought with the fact that we soon have to use the new Marketplace it will be better anyway for us. At the moment we merchants have our customers splitted on two platforms. When Xstreet will close all peoples go over to the new Marketplace and then we dont have to monitor both platforms anymore. Lets hope that these changes dont affect our sales negative. At the moment I dont notice much sales on the new one but because Xstreet is still available, that could be the reasons as many peoples maybe still buy there and not on the new Marketplace.
Today I did build a new Product for Second Life. This is a romantic Pavilion which can be placed in a Garden or on a Wedding. Maybe it could be a good spot to meet and talk with friends. Or just for any other Event. I uploaded it already to the Second Life Marketplace:
Hope you like it. Greetings 🙂
If you are merchant you know it was easy to get the value of xstreet sales you had in a exact time range.. How I said.. when you did use xstreet.
Under “My Marketplace” we just had to click “Today´s Sales” and then we´ve got a Sales History where we could find everything we want to know. Monthly earnings… weekly earnings.. maybe a whole year? Indeed all was possible so no more math needed. Just copy and paste the values to our Calculation Software (OpenOffice or Excel) and thats what was ok. Pretty simple but enough to monitor the income we have.
Now for sure I asked my self how it will be with the new Marketplace instead of Xstreet. Checked out the new Second Life Marketplace Beta to see if I can find anything. Under “Merchant home” I found a Link called “Reports” and “Product Sales” on the left side. Clicked it and was shocked how simple this report is. Didnt see much more then a list which tells me how much visits and sales differend of my objects had. Ok so far.. but.. I did see more numbers on the buttom which I could use to browse all my objects… yea to get all the info about my other product visits and sales. And here is my problem. Should I now browse all pages and then do the math by my own to get the amount I´ve sold? And how about time range? I couldnt see the complete addition of all sales.. I also couldnt find anything which let me define a time range. This cant be true and I hope it is because it is still in a beta.
This is not complexy and there must be more.. I hope there will be more. Im not happy with a simple list of my product sales. I need to define the time of sales.. I need to have the possibility to setup more then this. And I defenetly wont browse 10 Pages of over 100 Items and do the math by my own.
This cant be all. And please lets all hope we get more then this after the beta.
Usually I am one of these persons who dislike everything that is affected by changes. Or in short: I hate changes.
In almost the same manner it was pretty sure why I did freak out when heard that Xstreet SL will be transformed to something which is called Second Life Marketplace. Yea New Second Life Marketplace.
Indeed I was one person of many who worried about that. I thought why there is need for so much changes?
Today I updated some of my core products on the new marketplace. And after editing 3 products I started to acclimatize with the new way how to manage products there and so.
I must say that I now start to like the new design.. Yes me! The evil hater of all changes.. I like it now!?
Yea the way how I can edit all the products is pretty good. Guess its just a matter of habituation.
I like that you can link one product to another. Or link to a demo. This is good I thought and I use it now.
What makes me sad is the fact that they did remove this “Peoples who bought this product, bought these products too…” Feature. Im not sure but this was another good way to get some visitors.. yea visitors other creators as well.
But at least I am overall much more happy with it then in the past. Had already some sales but not much. Main sales still come from Xstreet SL. But when they close it down.. I hope those sales will be on the new Market too.
Just my “changed” thoughts on that.

IMPORTEND NOTES ABOUT BEHAVIOUR AND PRODUCT USAGE
This product isnt thought as spamdevice!
Please be sure that you only use decent values, otherwise peoples could think you are spamming very hard!
For example a value of random chat announcements every minute is very much. Think about decent values. Values like every 5 or 10 minutes or more should be ok. So then it isnt annoying for other peoples.
Most sim owners dont like the shout chat mode. If so, be sure that you use whisper or say mode.
Please also be careful about your neighboors. If you use the shout mode, they will see your random chat too. It is better if you use whisper or say in your configcard!
Default value is Whisper but you can change that.
So if you would like to own this products too..
You can get it here on SL Marketplace:
